We had great timing today. Everywhere we went was like being in a movie set. Walk up and get on the plane. Lovely flight. Waited for the M60 bus at LaGuardia for five minutes.

Realized while riding into Manhattan that the bus would pass by my favorite taco place in Harlem, Taco Mix! Tacos for lunch.

Amazing! Better than I even remember. And the barbacoa taco was amazing. So happy to share this place with Leslie.

Walk over to the subway and the train arrives as we enter. Perfect timing. Subway over to Penn Station and Moynihan Hall to catch the Amtrak upstate. We arrived in time to grab a coffee and walk right onto the track and into the train. Following a couple with a pink suitcase as big as me who couldn’t decide which car to enter. We finally get around them and get on the last car. The front row is available with all the leg room and giant windows. Perfect timing.

Leslie was on point to suggest this train ride. A beautiful view of the Hudson River out the port window all the way to Rhinecliff. It was great to see cute New England style houses with gorgeous views.

Rhinecliff is a tiny town with a stunning vista. It’s off season, and with no one around, this sleepy village feels like it belongs in a Stephen King novel.
While waiting for an Uber, we stop into Kip’s Tavern for a well timed and well deserved cocktail. As we walk out of the bar our car arrives and we’re off to Hotel Dylan. We are surprisingly not fatigued from our multi-transport adventure.

Leslie has spent the last week talking to everyone at Overlook Bicycles setting up our rental do the weekend. We arrive at the hotel and George is waiting after hours for us to let us know our bikes out in our room. The Hotel Dylan is adorable. Old school motel remade into boutique, hippy heaven that’s exactly what should exist in Woodstock.

We ride off into Woodstock, a cute, small town with a ton of restaurants. Amazing pizza dough empanadas at Shelter for dinner and a chill ride back to the hotel.
Highly recommend Hotel Dylan. We’re pretty sure we were the only people here tonight. A couple of beers around the fire pit and standing outside looking at the stars. So many stars!! And Jupiter! Amazing day with lots of laughs, thanks so much LL!
We’ve decided that we are now living in a movie. The timing is too perfect to be real life. Someone is directing this movie, and they’re doing a great job. Act two tomorrow.
